Education lead for children
Are you passionate about shaping young minds and nurturing a love for Jewish learning? NNLS is seeking an inspiring and dynamic Education Lead for Children to guide, innovate and lead our educational programmes for the next generation.
In this pivotal role, you’ll have the opportunity to design and deliver engaging experiences for primary school aged children, fostering their curiosity, creativity, and connection to Jewish life.
You’ll collaborate with a dedicated team to support a variety of programmes including Kehilatainu (our cheder), Haderech (our B’nei Mitzvah programme), residential events and holiday schemes. You will also play a key role in designing creative ways to celebrate the Jewish calendar and the milestones in children’s lives.
The Education Lead for Children is a rewarding and enriching role where every day is different. The work you will do is incredibly impactful for the youngest members of our community. If you’re an educator with vision, energy, and a desire to make a difference, we’d love to hear from you.
This is an outstanding position for someone who has experience in education and/or working in a Jewish community or organisation, a teacher looking for a change or a university leaver with relevant experience.
Hours: 30 – 37 hour per week to include Sundays during term time, Tuesday and Wednesday early evenings during term time, Jewish festivals and some Shabbatot and evenings.
Salary: £26,000-£30,000 per annum (commensurate with experience)

education lead for youth
Are you passionate about engaging and inspiring young people? New North London Synagogue is seeking a motivated and visionary Education Lead for Youth to guide and nurture our vibrant youth community.
In this exciting role, you’ll have the opportunity to shape the educational journey of young people aged 11-18. From leading innovative learning programs to fostering youth leadership and creating meaningful connections to Jewish life, your work will be at the heart of shaping their future. You’ll oversee a range of initiatives, including events around festivals, Shabbat programming, leadership and social action projects, while building strong relationships with youth and their families.
Central to this position is taking an active leadership role in our B’nei Mitzvah programme, Haderech, where you will be engaging our teens in meaningful learning experiences that spark curiosity, challenge young minds and motivate our youth to continue to be involved in the community after their Simcha.
Working collaboratively with our Rabbinic Team, Education Team, Madrichim and volunteers, you’ll ensure our programs reflect the values and dynamic spirit of NNLS. Sunday kehilatainu teacher
Kehilatainu is our flagship Sunday morning education provision for Primary School aged children who attend non-Jewish schools. We pride ourselves on being a warm and nurturing environment, providing children with opportunities for academic, personal and spiritual growth. We have a team of dedicated and inspiring teachers and we are currently looking for a new teacher for one of our Yr5 classes.
If you have a flair for working with young people, enjoy being part of a community and have a passion for Judaism then we want to hear from you.
As a teacher at Kehilatainu you are expected to teach each class according to our innovative curriculum and prepare lessons in a stimulating, enjoyable and safe environment.
You are expected to display high levels of professionalism and attention at all times and to be an excellent role model of a ‘mensch’ for the children and families.
We ask you to demonstrate commitment to the ethos and values of Masorti Judaism and of NNLS, and to maintain high levels of discretion and confidentiality at all times.
Hours: 9:10-12:30 every Sunday throughout term
Salary: £2,438, which is paid monthly throughout the year. This equates to approximately £81 per session and we teach 30 sessions throughout the academic year

Haderech Teachers
Haderech is our pre Bar/Bat Mitzvah education programme which starts in Year 6 and goes through to the end of Year 8. The goals of the programme are to help prepare the students educationally for Jewish life and deepen their connections with their community, their religion and their peers.
NNLS requires 2 teachers for Haderech on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons 4.45-6.45 pm; 2-4 hours per week.
Salary: £25-£35 per hour per hour commensurate with teaching experience and relevant qualifications.
