Winter Night Shelter 2024
Winter Night Shelter 2024
What is the winter night shelter?
NNLS have been involved in the Winter Shelter, organised by Together in Barnet (TIB), a local charity, for the past 12 years.
We provide shelter and hospitality to up to 17 men and women who are experiencing homelessness. Our guests receive our warm hospitality, an evening meal prepared and cooked in the NNLS kitchen and a safe and warm place to sleep overnight. Followed by a quick breakfast on Tuesday morning.
Our guests are directly referred by Homeless Action in Barnet, a day centre in North Finchley, which works to help homeless single people find accommodation and move on in life.
We will be hosting our guests for 7 weeks on Monday nights from 8th January to 19th February 2024.
how can i find out more information?
Please join us for a meeting at NNLS on Thursday 23rd November 8 to 9.30pm to learn more about the Night Shelter.
Marcin Nocek from TIB will be at the meeting to answer any questions you may have about the shelter and to update on with what is happening with this season’s shelter.
In addition previous volunteers who will be sharing with you their own experiences and why they enjoy volunteering so much and will explain in more detail what is required in each shift.
How can I get involved?
